My six year-old informed his older sister, who is in high school, that the text he’d just read was, in fact, informational text. The implication being it was fact and she should not argue with him. I’m raising a future debater. I can just feel it.

My week this week was…unproductive to say the least. Long days at work and many family events during the evenings. It’s making me a little nervous with NaNo coming and things only getting busier. My son is now in Kindergarten. This week his first school book order arrived. He had poured over the book order forms and placed an “x” next to each item he wanted. When he brought his new books out for me to see, he cradled them in his hands like something fragile. My heart swelled.
